Build Your Book Month
What is Build Your Book Month?
Build Your Book Month is an annual event offered for Premium Members. During Build Your Book Month, we host expert-led masterclasses themed around outlining your novel, as well as forums to discuss your progress and find peer feedback. All Build Your Book Month content is available to Premium Members for free, with no additional purchase required.
Build Your Book Month 2026 took place in October 2026.
Can I attend the events without being a Premium Member?
Build Your Book Month live masterclass events are available to Premium Members only.
Where can I find replays of previous Build Your Book Month masterclasses?
Premium Members can find all of our masterclass replays by visiting Masterclasses. You can find this page by visiting Learn > Resources > Masterclasses from your Townhouse news feed, or by hovering over the My Jericho dropdown on the main Jericho Writers website and clicking Masterclasses. I’m not based in the UK. Will Getting Published Month still be worth it for me?
Yes, absolutely. Most of our live events are held at 19:00 BST/GMT but are available as replays for members unable to attend live.
What genres are suitable for taking part in Build Your Book Month?
Build Your Book Month is primarily aimed at writers working on novels of all genres and age categories. We’ll be working on our stories from the beginning right through to the end as well as looking at subplots, plot twists and more. If you are writing creative non-fiction, we think Build Your Book Month will be suitable, but perhaps not for other types of non-fiction.
I’m not ready to share my work. Do I have to?
No, of course not! We believe that opening your work up to feedback and learning to give feedback to others is a great way to improve your writing, but we understand that not everyone is comfortable doing this. While participating in peer feedback is encouraged, it is certainly not a requirement.
I already have the plot for my novel ready to go. Will the events be right for me?
Yes! You’ll have the chance to share what you’re working on with us and your fellow members, and can polish your outline as much as possible as you go.
