Getting Published Month
Can I attend the events or take the course without being
a Premium Member?
No, the events included in Getting Published Month are for
our Premium Members only. But you can join us just for the month by
taking out a Flex Membership for £30. Once the month is up, you’re
free to cancel (though we hope you’ll stay!). It’s more cost-effective to join
us for a whole year, which you can do
here. We
are also offering 10% off an annual Premium Membership (either pay upfront or
in monthly instalments), using code GETPUBLISHED10.
I’m not based in the UK. Will Getting Published Month
still be worth it for me?
Yes, absolutely. We have members from all over the world and
would love for you to join us. Most of the live events are held at 19:00
GMT, but if you can’t make them live, you can always watch on replay and submit
questions to us ahead of time if you know you’re not going to make it. The How to
Get a Literary Agent and Introduction to Self Publishing video courses are
completely self-paced, meaning you can take them at any time.
I already have my submission pack ready to go. Will
Getting Published Month be right for me?
Yes, definitely. You’ll have the chance to share what you’re
working on with us and your fellow members before you send out your queries, so
that you can polish things up as much as possible.
I’m not ready to share my work. Do I have to?
No, of course not! Though we encourage all our members to
share their work, as receiving feedback is the best way to improve, we understand it’s not for everyone. You are encouraged to get involved in giving feedback to
others, but it’s definitely not compulsory!
I’m hoping to self-publish. Will Getting Published Month
be right for me?
The live events during this month cover traditional
publishing and self-publishing, as well as independent and digital-first
publishing, so you’ll come away with a plan of attack no matter what your
publishing plans are.

What are the different membership options?
We offer two types of membership – Free and
Premium.
Free Membership: join our global community of
writers on Townhouse and be the first to hear the latest news with writing
newsletters from the Jericho Writers’ Team.
We offer two membership plans for Premium
Membership:
Annual Premium Membership: This is an annual
subscription. You can choose to pay in one upfront payment or in 12 monthly
instalments. For the full terms and conditions, please see
here.
Premium Flex Membership: This monthly
subscription option gives you full access to our Premium Membership and renews
automatically every month for £30, unless you cancel. It can be cancelled at
any time, unlike the Annual Premium Membership.
What happens if I upgrade from a Free Member to the
Premium Membership?
Your login details will remain the same. Now, as a Premium
Member, you can access all elements of your membership via the My Jericho menu. Your Townhouse posts, groups, forums, messages, and friends
will be available to you as before.
Can I change from a Premium Flex membership to an Annual
Premium Membership?
If you subscribed to Jericho Writers as a Premium Flex for a
month and have decided to switch to an Annual Premium Membership (pay upfront
or monthly instalments), please follow these steps:
- Sign
in to your account: My
Account
- Visit
this page: Order History.
- Click
on ‘View’ your active subscription and then on ‘Cancel Subscription.’
- Now
that your previous subscription is cancelled, you can re-join. You can do
so by selecting Annual Premium Membership on the Join Us page.
Once you have completed the transaction, your new annual
membership should begin automatically and will renew every 12
months.
Meet Your Match
How does Meet Your Match work?
Share a short elevator pitch and your genre in the dedicated
forum (when it opens) on
Townhouse,
our online social platform, and our team will personally match you with a
literary agent.
If you like your match, you can add them to your “To Query”
list for your next round of submissions or book an
Agent
One-to-One session and have the opportunity to get personalised advice on
your submission pack.
Agents will also be browsing pitches and may like or request submissions that catch their eye, giving you even more opportunities to get noticed.
You will be able to post your elevator pitch and genre in
the dedicated forum ONLY between 8:00am, 31 March to 8:00am, 1 April (GMT).
How do I write an elevator pitch?
Take a look at the following resources for some tips:
- Elevator
Pitches with Harry Bingham masterclass

Kate Harrison masterclass

To Write An Elevator Pitch For Your Novel article
In summary: keep it concise and focus on the very core of
your plot or concept.
How many pitches can I send?
As much as we’d love to see everything you’ve been working on,
we’re a small team and we don’t want to miss anyone out. If you have multiple
pitches, we suggest you pick the one you would most like to be matched with an
agent.
Do I need a complete manuscript to take part?
No, but if you plan to book an
Agent One-to-One session
after being matched, you will need to submit a query letter, synopsis and first
5000 words of your manuscript for feedback. For more information, you can view
our
Agent One-to-One FAQs.
Can I submit a pitch for any genre?
If you’re submitting poetry, screenplays, short stories or
erotica, we might have trouble matching you with a suitable agent. Otherwise,
submit away! Just be sure to clearly indicate the genre in your pitch – and
avoid acronyms or abbreviations if you can, please.
I’ve already booked an Agent One-to-One with a different
agent – can I still participate?
It’s great to hear you’re already taking steps to boost your
submission pack! You’re more than welcome to send your pitch to us for Meet
Your Match, and add another name to your agent shortlist for future queries.
Can I participate if I’m not from the UK?
Of course! We work primarily with UK and US literary agents,
but we’re happy to find a match for you, no matter where you are in the world.
Just remember that we’re open to pitches from 8:00 am, 31 March to 8:00 am, 1
April (GMT).
Is this a competition?
Sort of! We’ll be awarding the author of our favourite
elevator pitch a free
Agent One-to-One session, which they can redeem with the
agent of their choice. So make sure to read up on how to make your pitch as
strong as possible – you can start with the resources we provided above. Even
if you don’t win, it’s worth taking part as you never know who might be
watching…
I missed Meet Your Match – what can I do instead?
If you missed the live pitch session, don’t worry, our full
list of agents is available
here. Simply use the genres dropdown to filter the list,
and make sure to read the full bios for more information about each
agent’s wishlist. Take a look at our
Agent One-to-One FAQs for more information.
I have a question that hasn’t been answered. How do I contact you?
