What genres is Simply Self Publish suitable for?
The course is suitable for all genres including creative non-fiction, YA and middle grade. Younger children’s work might not be suitable – but Debbie will assess each book’s suitability during the application process.
Who will be in my mentor group?
You will share your tutor with up to 9 other students, and work with your group closely throughout the course, in mentor group calls and peer feedback activities. Many of our alumni make lifelong friends!
What is Debbie's experience?
Self-publishing expert Debbie Young is the author of thirteen novels, two of which have been shortlisted for the prestigious BookBrunch Selfies Award for best independently-published adult fiction in the UK. She now combines licensing selective rights for her books to various publishers including Boldwood Books, DP Verlag, and Saga Egmont, while continuing to self-publish. Debbie has more than eight years’ experience as Commissioning Editor of the Alliance of Independent Authors’ daily self-publishing advice blog. She is also an Ambassador for ALLi and has written several books of advice for indie authors.
How many hours will the course take?
This course is for serious writers. While the course online has been tailored to fit around people’s schedules, the main aim of the course is to support you in creating a solid indie publishing strategy. This will take dedication – the more you put into the course, the more you get out!
