This course is perfect for anyone serious about writing a novel and seeing it traditionally published, or successfully self-published. Ideally, students on the course have already started working on a draft they’d like to write and polish. The mentoring aspect of the course will be completely personalised to you, so we’ll work from whatever your starting point happens to be, and provide you with all the writing tips and advice you need.

I have just started work on my novel, is this course suitable for me?
Of course! If you are serious about finishing your novel and seeing it published, this course is for you. As long as you have a solid idea of what you want to write, and the first few chapters under your belt, we’ll be able to help. The course will be tailored to suit your needs, so we’ll work from whatever your starting point happens to be, and provide you with all the writing tips and advice you require.
I have already finished my draft, is this course suitable for me?
Definitely – think of this course as an opportunity to hone your novel and get it into the best shape it can be, to give you the best possible chance of success when you send it off to agents. During the twelve months you will revisit your draft with fresh eyes, working closely with your tutor to make sure that your novel works on every level. You will then learn everything you need to know about finding an agent, getting published, author marketing, and more. You will also benefit from featuring in our end-of-course anthology, attending our networking events with industry professionals, and participating in our partnerships with top literary agents.
What genres does the course suit?
All genres including creative non-fiction, YA and middle grade. Younger children’s work might not be suitable – but if there’s a market for your book, we want you. The course is not suitable for non-fiction that doesn’t have a narrative element to it.
