  1. Fully Funded Place – covers the full cost of a Weekend Ticket
  2. Partially Funded Place – provides £125 off a Weekend Ticket
When completing your application form, please select which of the bursaries you would like to apply for.

How can I apply for a London Festival of Writing bursary?

You can find the application form for both of the London Festival of Writing bursaries here: Festival of Writing Bursary – Jericho Writers.
As part of the application form, you will be asked to select which of the two bursaries (Fully Funded Place or Partially Funded Place) you would like to apply for.

What is the deadline for the bursary application?

The deadline for both London Festival of Writing bursaries is 23.59 GMT on Monday 4 May. Bursary applications submitted after this time will not be accepted.

Am I eligible for the bursary?

The London Festival of Writing bursaries are available to applicants from low-income households. If you are in a position to comfortably afford a standard ticket, we kindly ask that you purchase one instead, so these funded places can support those who truly need them.

Can I apply for both bursaries?

No, please apply to one bursary only. We recommend applying to the bursary which best reflects your circumstances. Both options follow the same terms and conditions, and all applications are assessed with care and fairness.

How will I find out if my bursary application has been successful?

For each of the two bursary places available, the successful bursary applicant will receive notification via email on Thursday 7 May. This email will confirm the successful bursary and what it covers, and details on how to claim the bursary. If you do not receive any communication from us within 5 working days of Thursday 7 May, then unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful. However, we encourage you to check out our Bursaries page for future opportunities.

Do I need to be a Premium Member to apply for the bursary?

No, you do not need to be a Premium Member to apply for a bursary. All writers are welcome to apply, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria set out above.

Is accommodation provided as part of the bursary?

No. Accommodation is not provided as part of the bursary.

Will my travel expenses be covered by the bursary?

No. Travel expenses are not covered as part of the bursary.

Is the bursary only available to UK writers?

No, anyone can apply for the bursary. However, accommodation and travel expenses are not covered by the bursary and so will need to be provided for by the individual. We ask that you apply for the bursary only if you would be free and able to attend the Festival of Writing on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2026.

Will I be eligible to enter Friday Night Live (but on a Saturday) / the Gala Dinner / One-to-One Sessions / Writer's Hall?

Yes. Your bursary ticket will be a Weekend All-Access ticket, which includes access to the Friday Night Live competition, the Gala Dinner, 2x One-to-One sessions with industry professionals, and the Writer's Hall networking event.

How can I book sessions with my bursary ticket?
