Here’s a reminder of what you’ll need, and what we’re looking for.
We want everyone who joins us on the Novel Writing Course to get the most they possibly can out of the experience. We ask you to apply for a place so that we can check the course is a good fit for you. It also helps us to match you up with the perfect tutor!
When you apply, you’ll need to have the following things ready to share with us:
- Some basic information about your background as a writer and your writing ambitions. We only ask you to provide 100 words maximum, and please don’t worry if you haven’t done much writing before! What we’re really interested in is whether you’re committed to planning and completing a whole manuscript in a year.
- Up to 100 words on why you’d like to take the Novel Writing Course. What do you think you’ll enjoy most? What will the key benefits be? What do you hope to learn?
- A summary of your novel idea. This can be up to 200 words, and it doesn’t have to be perfect – or final! We understand your ideas may develop or move in different directions as you work on your book.
- The working title for your novel and the genre you feel it fits into.
- Your preferred start date.
- Your preferred mentor.
