What will my session involve?
Your Agent One-to-One session will consist of a 15-minute phone call with an industry professional. You will receive feedback on your submitted documents (e.g. your query letter, synopsis, and the first 5,000 words of your manuscript). For more information on the expected outcomes of your session, please see our T&Cs. How long will my session last?
Agent One-to-One sessions last 15 minutes.
When will my session take place?
After purchasing a session, you will be asked to book a date and time with the agent of your choice using the booking link in your confirmation email. All times listed on the booking page are given in 24-hour UK time (GMT or BST).
On the day of your session, please leave 15 minutes of leeway to account for any delays in the agent’s schedule.
Your session will be held over the phone, using the number provided at checkout. You can check this number by visiting My Account > Orders, selecting the correct order, and checking the billing details at the bottom of the page.
If you will be unable to receive a phone call, please contact 121@jerichowriters.com at least one week before your session so that we can make suitable arrangements. How can I prepare for my session?
First of all, make sure you're aware of your file upload deadline and have given yourself enough time to finish your documents, read over them, and upload them – with plenty of breathing room allowed for any tech issues or emergency plans! All files need to be submitted no later than one week (7 days) before your session.
At the time of your call, you should make sure that your phone is switched on, that you are settled in a comfortable place with good reception, and that you have switched off any Do Not Disturb or automatic call-blocking features which could interfere with your call.
The time can fly by, so we recommend writing down any questions you'd like to ask and bringing them to your session. It is also recommended to have a copy of your submission pack in front of you during the session so you can easily refer to any content the agent references. Finally, make sure you have a reliable way to take down notes during the call.
Will my session be recorded?
Agent One-to-One sessions may be recorded for quality assurance and training purposes. These recordings will be stored securely by the responsible Jericho Writers officer for up to 30 days and may only be accessed if Jericho Writers has a legitimate reason to do so. After 30 days call recordings are automatically deleted. For more information on how call recordings and your data are stored, please read our privacy policy.
